Curriculum & Activity Guide 2009

The annual K-12 GoNorth! Curriculum and Activity Guide is free of charge, multidisciplinary and standard-aligned.

Driven by the environmental question "Transboundary Pollution and Sustainable Development" this years Curriculum & Activity Guide will consist of three four-week modules. Module 1 is available! If you are not already a GoNorth! teacher, sign up today and you will receive a notification as the Module 2 and 3 become available!

View As Book!
You will be able to view the entire Curriculum & Activity Guide as a book online - turn pages, zoom in and out, make notes, print and save individual sections, and share with fellow GoNorth! teachers. Now, view Module 01 of CAAG 2009

Three 4-week Modules

Each module in the GoNorth! Curriculum and Activity Guide is also made available to you in a portable document file (PDF's) that you can easily download to your computer. The titles of this year’s module are:

Module 1 - Exploration: The Arctic

Module 2 - People: Sustainable Development

Module 3 - Ecology: Climate Change

Module 1 is available! As the modules become available go to the individual Module pages to read the summary of each Module and click on the PDF icon or the Module title to download the files. Module files may take a while to download. Please note where you are downloading the files on your computer so you can find them :-)!

Note: To view the files you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you don't know whether you have Adobe Acrobat installed, we suggest downloading the four modules and seeing if you are able to open the files. If you are not, please go to the Techie Tucker section to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader by clicking here >>

Geospatial Technologies

A feature of the GoNorth! Curriculum and Activity Guide is the strong integration og geospatial technologies (GT).

If you are not familiar with geospatial technologies such as Goggle Earth and GIS, you will find helpful movies on how to use these programs in the Techie Tucker section. We encourage you to use these lessons in your classroom as they are one more way to get students excited about learning!

Bound copy to your door!

Our goal is to provide you with detailed directions to help you download the curriculum with success! If you do not want to download and print the curriculum, it is possible to order a bound copy of the curriculum from the Polar Husky store. You pay only copying and shipping costs and it will be sent to your school. Note however that this is only available in black and white copy. But consider that you can supplement your bound copy with viewing online in color using the Nxtbook 'view as a book' feature.

2004, 2006 and 2007 CAAGS are each available as one large book. The 2008 CAAG, due to its size, is available for purchase as individual modules. As CAAG 2009 becomes available you will able to order it in the store as well!
